What I've already done: Stopped the service, obviously. But when I restart Apache it is created again with all the content it was there before. Apache would create as many log files are you want it to in the config file.

After a fresh install I tried to upload files from owncloud's web interface. So, naturally, I tried uninstalling Apache: $sudo apt-get purge apache2 I even tried stopping the service before and rebooting afterwards. PVince81 commented Feb 6, 2015 @hugoboss2014b if the permissions were wrong on disk it's maybe because at some point you ran ./occ files:scan --all as root. The box we SSH/FTP to is a different one than Apache sits on.
